You have taken the right first step towards beginning an exciting career in scuba diving. So why should you choose an Internship with BVI Scuba Co?We regularly have Divemasters with no experience come through looking for work and we are very reluctant to hire them. We like for Divemaster Trainees to spend as much time as possible with us so that when you go out into the field as a Divemaster you will have the confidence that you really know your job and will be able to say to prospective employers that you have real world experience in a bustling dive resort! We know you have a choice when it comes to where you do your dive training and we want to give you the proper tools to help you make the choice that is best for you. After all, this desicion lays the ground work for your future. Our course fee categories below depend on the amount of time you can commit and your current level of qualification combined with logged scuba dives. Please inquire first. One month Internship Program: $450.00 The fees include all scuba instruction and training of the highest standards from whatever level you currently are up to Divemaster, as well as boat training, all the great scuba diving you wish to do, teamwork building sessions, lodging in our beachside camp, and too many other perks here in paradise to mention! This cost does not include PADI certification cards or food. PADI charges a fee when sending for official dive course PIC cards. Each PADI certification card fee is $15. Divemaster fee is $65. It is recommended that Interns budget at least $300 per month for food (depending on appetite!). Small grocery stores are nearby the dive shop and we commonly shop in Tortola and St Thomas too. Catching our own fish is a favorite way of most of our staff! Please understand that by joining this adventure you are not guaranteeing your certification in any courses since PADI course certification is a result of passing the required standards, completing dives, and examinations. To train to be a fully certified PADI Divemaster, an Open Water Diver must complete the following courses:Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, Medic/First Aid and Divemaster Courses can cost more than $2000 in most Resort Dive Schools. Additionally, a diver must have completed a total of 60 Open Water dives (which can cost about $50 US each) before eligibility as a DiveMaster. Internship Staff Responsibilities: If you choose to do an Internship with BVI Scuba Co., you automatically will also get to participate in activities with our “Partner in Paradise”, Jost Van Dyke Scuba. You will have the added value of being able to train in that operation on a much smaller island and see a totally different dynamic SCUBA business function. The diversity of doing an Internship between the two companies will make you into a much better Diver and expand your mind in many ways. In addition, Jost Van Dyke Scuba is also involved in Eco-Tourism, which will put environmental education and nature based tourism in your training curriculum. This Internship experience will prove to be the most enjoyable and adventurous training opportunity possible as you travel and dive between Tortola and the beautiful sister islands.
